Gulls, by Helen Bascand
George Enescu - Romanian Rhapsody
I can't forget
how I told you they were there
outside your window -
two of them
because your soul seemed heavy
tied to your hospital bed -
I was drifting
looking away from your face
and I mentioned
how blue was this sky. I told you
the gulls were white and bewitching
and they made flying look

i again feel as if you had posted this especially for me... you know why. i can't say a word here, because it touches me so deeply.
with my love, and a big bear hug. you don't need to say a word, but i am glad to see your name here. as always.
i so am swept by the simplicity of this poem,as power... don't know the poet yet...
reminds me of W.Carlos Williams
mansuetude,
i'm always so glad to have you visit!
the simplicity of the poem is what swept me when i first read it, too
