Hello
ReplyDeleteI am here thanks Roxana, who posted a poem thanks it seems yourself. it is the "Dangerous prayer" post, the one by Regina Sara.
i was struck by the music primarily, by the speed. one must know how to read poems, this one in particular, seemed like Nietzsche on speed?
you have a fine blog here and thanks anyway!
cheers
Welcome, Kubla Khan. I am glad you came to visit, and that you like the blog - it's not a very active one, but it's very close to my heart.
ReplyDeleteI myself got that poem from a different blogger, here http://elainejarvis.blogspot.com/2009/10/i-am-thinking-this-evening-that-i-need.html
this is how treasures move around the net, or at least the blog world.
i'm not sure myself if there's one right way to read this poem. initially i had it with Mendelssohn, and it was a very different story then.
i am glad both music and poetry are flexible like that, continue to unfold, like a perpetual flowering.
how beautiful and achingly parallel are these...
ReplyDeletedear vv, how glad i am for your visits and comments... this music, i find it hard to stand for its longing and beauty, and yet i don't want it to stop
ReplyDeletei have read your poem so often by now that i can almost say it by heart :-)
ReplyDeleteit's especially the first half that doesn't want to leave me:
A divinely charmed
.........................snake
.......................................Sent to coil
......................................................around heart
.......................................................................and soul
..................................................................................And leave
................................................................twin wounds
......................................................dripping
how lovely this looks, are you thinking of new experiments with form?
dear roxana! you are always so encouraging!
ReplyDeletei didn't start with the idea of experimenting with form, only the 'traditional' form just didn't fit and i had to fiddle and fiddle until it felt better. it's harder to do on blogger, sadly, as i'm sure you know, formatting is a pain and it never looks the same in the final page as in the edit window...
but yes, i love playing with the poem form and bring in also the visual - now as i'm writing this i'm thinking, i can write something on paper and scan and then post it :) see, inspiration... thanks! :)
